Melatonin is a hormone secreted at night by the pineal gland to signal the brain that it is time to go to sleep. Supplemental melatonin can help regulate sleep cycles. It is taken in doses from .5 to 3mg. While some people find it useful, others say that they get no benefit from it and that it laves them feeling groggy in the morning. If you experience no benefit from 2 to 3 mg, try lowering your dose to .5 mg.
